Jesus was probably placed in a water trough inside the large, first century Jewish home in Bethlehem that functioned as in inn, perhaps like a bed and breakfast today. This Christmas, think about the humility & willingness of Jesus to do whatever he needed to do to reach us, including be born in a filthy, empty water trough!
